bihost:8080/BOE/BI is not available
Hi,
I have created a HANA trial solution of type "SAP ERP foundation Extension" on AWS . I see two instances running but the URL to the BIHOST is not working. The browser shows a "webpage not available".
Any suggestions ?

Step 3 - connecting to your instance
Step 3 - says to add your IP address to connect to instance. Once I enter the ip address, I get to the developer addition, but how to I then get to HANA Studio? Is it in Developer Resources?

HANA BW free trial - no BO Launch Pad - CMC Only
Hi,
Created instance:
SAP Business Warehouse 7.4 SP5 incl. SAP Business Objects BI 4.1 SP2 on SAP HANA 1.0 SP7
BW and HANA Work fine , but there appears to be no BO Launchpad access so cannot run Webi Intelligence reports.
Looking at the licence key it appears to expire on 2014-09-12 ?

Accessing CAL NW ABAP Stack from Eclipse
Hello,
I have configured an instance of SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.3 on Max DB on CAL, and connect to it fine from SAP Gui (using the "Connect link". However I haven't managed to log on using Eclipse.
When I click the connect link a .sap file is downloaded, and opens up a SAP GUI with the connection details. I have tried to enter the properties manually in Eclipse, but cannot manage to connect anyway. Is there a way to either 1) Add the system to my SAP Logon straight from the downloaded file, or 2) Open the connection in Eclipse instead of SAP Gui?

HANA instance stays in status "Prepared" and is not activated
Hello,
I created an instance of "AP ERP Foundation Extension powered by SAP HANA" on AWS through the Cloud Appliance Library.
Two virtual machines should be created for this instance:
- SAP ERP 607 on SAP HANA SPS07
- SBOP BI Platform 4.1
The SBOP virtual machine is created - i can also see it in the AWS Console - started. Status in CAL is active & green
The ERP virtual machine remains in status "Prepared" in CAL. This does not change and i can't see any corresponding instance in AWS.
Overall status of the instance : "Undefined"
I tried some "activate/suspend" cycles hoping that this would help but it remains unchanged.
What does the "Prepared" status actually mean for a virtual machine?
Are additional steps required to trigger generation of the ERP-HANA virtual machine on AWS?

Why is the instance not installed with AWS in my region (US instead of Europe)
Yesterday I installed the 'SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP & SAP Business Warehouse 7.4 SP8 on SAP HANA 1.0 SP8 [Developer Edition]' over through CAL ( caltdc.netweaver.ondemand.com ) and ended up with an instance in AWS running in region US (Virginia) instead of Europe (Ireland) where I am based.
Previously I installed 'SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP & SAP Business Warehouse 7.4 SP5 on SAP HANA 1.0 SP7 [Developer Edition]' which I could select in the AWS Marketplace and thereby selecting machine size and location myself.
I intended to do the same today, but could not find the current dev edition above for selection in the AWS Marketplace.
Why not?
Running both instance in parallell today I noticed a clear difference in service level between the AWS instance running in Ireland and the new one running in the US.

BW on HANA Trial - Using BEx Analyzer
Hello,
ismy assumptioncorrect that it is not possible to use BEx Analyzer with the BW on HANA Trial?
When I try to start BEx Analyzer via remote desktop of my instance nothing happened. Also I found a comment that there is a license problem with micrsoft und that´s the reason why it doesn´t work.
Do you know any workarround to use BEx Analyzer or Analysis for Office with BW on HANA Trial?

Error when adding Amazon AWS account to CAL
Recently I've registered for CAL and would like to try SAP HANA Developer edition. I followed tutorial about how to deploy SAP HANA using CAL and Amazon AWS account. One of the steps was to add AWS account (using public and secret keys) to CAL account. When I'm trying to do it, I'm receiving following error "An error from Amazon Web Services occurred: AMAZON : null". My AWS account is valid, but this is a corporate account and I'm not the root user. Does anybody know how to solve this?

CAL account - Instant Configuration
Using the following document:
"
Getting Started with SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP incl.
SAP Business Warehouse 7.4 SP5
on SAP HANA 1.0 SP7
[Developer Edition]"
as a guide, I set up a CAL account and was in the process of activating an instance.
The General Properties page of the wizard swets the radio button Public (I am accessing from my home computer) and checks the box Static IP address. On the right side there is a warning that "You will be charged while the system is suspended". I am not allowed to uncheck the box "Static IP address". So I am given no option to avoid the charges while the system is suspended. OpenSAP course instructors recommend suspending the instance after a session to avoid being charged while the system is not in use. Since I need to pay from my personal account for this course, I am afraid the cost will be prohibitive.
While cost per hour is quite cheap, being charged while the system is not being used is a disincentive.
Can anyone let me know whether this is due to some error in setting up the account?
What is the best way to go about in the scheduling page down the line (such as terminating and recreating instances for every session)?
When does the credit card get charged, daily? monthly?

"Password change required to complete authentication" for Lumira

in the CAL solution SAP ERP foundation extension on HANA the link to Lumira from the Fiori launchpad results in the error message:
"Password change required to complete authentication". But there is no way to change the password, just the error.
How can I change the password and for which user ?

SAP ERP foundation Extension the login screen asks for system and client.
Providing ERP and 120 results in an error
"Account information not recognized: Failed while trying to obtain the connection provider object for system ERPCLNT120. Unknown entitlement system: ERPCLNT120. Logon cannot proceed."
Which is the correct system and client ?

User / Password error when executing BI reports on SBOB BI 4.1 Launchpad
Hi,
while exploring the demos for the SAP ERP Foundation extension for CAL errors occur in the execution of the BI reports from the SBOB BI 4.1 launchpad.
When e.g. executing the Report "Sales value overview" the following error is thrown
"The viewer could not process an event. Failed to execute query: '[10]: invalid username or password: '. Redesign your query or contact the data source maintainer to solve the problem. [JRC00005575]
---- Error code:0 [CRWEB00000119]"
Which user / Password combination do I need to reset ?
And where ?

Unable to activate CAL instance
Hi,
after having activated my solution and created an instance, I am unable to activate it. After a few minutes the process ends with this error message:
Instance Operation Failed
Operation Start failed on step Create Key Pair with message: AMAZON: The request must contain the parameter Key Name (Service: AmazonEC2; Status Code 400; Error Code: MissingParameter; Request ID: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)

Any help or pointer in the right direction is greatly appreciated!

The ERP instance status is unknown. How can I fix this?

I've created an AWS account on Wednesday, Nov 5th, and created a "SAP ERP powered by SAP Hana" instance on cal.sap.com shortly after.
This produced an error indicating that AWS wasn't prepared to create the instance before having checked my account.
The message indicated I should wait 2 hours and retry.

I suspended the (BI?) instance that same evening.
Today, Nov 10th, activating the instance on cal.sap.com does not produce the desired result:

In the instance properties dialog only the IP address for the SBOP BI Platform 4.1 is shown, the IP address for the ERP instance is missing.
How can I fix this?

What CAL offerings feature SAP ERP HCM?
I have seen that SAP ERP HCM (component HRGXX) is available in the SAP ERP 6.0 EhP7 on SAP HANA offering, but is it available in any others? We'd like to get SAP ERP HCM on a non-SAP HANA system.

Can OSS notes be applied to developer CAL solutions?
Some CAL solutions come with perpetual developer licenses, for example the BW 7.4 SP8 on SAP HANA 1.0 SP8 image.
Is it possible to apply OSS notes to CAL instances created under this developer license?
Investigation so far:
- Clause 12 of the linked license says SAP won't provide support.
- We need to apply an existing OSS note because some functionality is entirely broken without it. (For the record, OSS 2082585 is needed to edit AMDPs).
- To download this OSS note, we'd need the CAL instance setup to be able to download OSS notes. Presumably this means registering the system with SAP OSS.

Status of an instance shows "undefined"
Hi
Any idea what might be the reason for an instance to show the status "undefined" and what could be done to get it to "Active"?
I tried several times to acivate, but each time it goes to the status "undefined".
Any help in this regard will be appreciated
