Trying to run an instance of "SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP and SAP BW 7.40 SP08 on SAP ASE [developer edition]" in Azure region "Western Europe" brings up the error message "The location constraint is not valid". Researching that error message brings up the following advice:
First create an VM on Azure. Choose Linux SUSE for SAP. After that selection you will see the relevant regions. Cancel it. Go back to CAL. Choose the region which was shown to you on AZURE.
According to Azure, "Linux SUSE for SAP" is only available in the following regions:
- Central US
- South Central US
- East Asia
- Southeast Asia
- Japan West
Unfortunately, that does not include Western Europe, which would be a.) my preferred region (as I'm based in Germany) and b.) the only region I can actually select in CAL. Which means, I can't create a VM from this image at all. The HANA edition, on the other hand, can be created in Central US (I can't tell yet whether it works, as it is still installing) - but again, that's not a good region for me, network-wise.
How can I run images in Western Europe region?
