Using the following document:

as a guide, I set up a CAL account and was in the process of activating an instance.
The General Properties page of the wizard swets the radio button Public (I am accessing from my home computer) and checks the box Static IP address. On the right side there is a warning that "You will be charged while the system is suspended". I am not allowed to uncheck the box "Static IP address". So I am given no option to avoid the charges while the system is suspended. OpenSAP course instructors recommend suspending the instance after a session to avoid being charged while the system is not in use. Since I need to pay from my personal account for this course, I am afraid the cost will be prohibitive.
While cost per hour is quite cheap, being charged while the system is not being used is a disincentive.
Can anyone let me know whether this is due to some error in setting up the account?
What is the best way to go about in the scheduling page down the line (such as terminating and recreating instances for every session)?
When does the credit card get charged, daily? monthly?
